Tampa Marauders (1-1-1) vs Chargers SC (0-1-0)

The Marauders continue to try to find the winning ways after a 2-2 draw with Greater Tampa Bay last weekend. The Marauders certainly looking in the dying minutes as if they could snatch 3 points but it wasn’t to be. Keeper Zlatko Buzak was back in the net last game and has an impressive 1.00 GAA. Offensively the Marauders have Shawn Meek and Lorne Maxime Jr. both with 2 goals. Javier Mitland returns to the lineup after sitting out with a red card last weekend.
Chargers SC looked strong as a team last weekend and the 4-0 loss was not evident in much of the even play throughout the night. Chargers look to gain momentum in the table with an upset of the Marauders in week 4. The Chargers will look to shore up the defense and keep the Marauders off the board.
The overall on this game is to look for a high scoring game, 5-6 goals is not out of the question.

The Marauders fell back to earth after a week 1 victory after Florida SC handed the Marauders a lop-sided 5-3 loss in which the score did not reflect the action. The Marauders have had 5 different goal scorers tally their 5 goals so far and have shared keeper duties with Zlatko Buzak posting a shutout in the opening victory and Saul Mendez allowing 5 goals in his debut. The Marauders regardless will look to shut down scoring chances while creating their own.
Greater Tampa Bay is coming off a week 1 victory over Florida SC after a late goal by Nazeem Bartman snatched 3 points for them. Keeper duties were shared in that game with Brian DiLoreto and Giancarlo Rodriguez each taking a half of scoreless action. GTB is coming off a bye-week so we look for a rested team to look to jump to the top of the table with 3 points in this game.

This was a premier match up with the Marauders coming in from a 3-0 win against FC Plant City in which they looked in control and Florida SC coming in after a heart-breaking last minute goal sending them off with a 1-0 defeat in week one. The Marauders took the early lead with a PK goal from Thompson lead the Marauders fans to thinking of a repeat, however, a second PK shortly before half, this time for Florida SC notched the game at 1 heading into half. The second half was like releasing the floodgates as goals were coming fast and furious. Florida SC jumped on Tampa time and time again and before long had built a 3-1 lead. The Marauders tried to fight back at the end and salvaged some respect with late goals, but the final result showed Florida SC as being a 5-3 victor in the match.
